Outdoor Pursuits Backpacking Trip

Being prepared with everything that I needed to survive was not the only thing I should of prepared for for the Backpacking Trip. By the end of the first night I just wanted to come home. I wanted nothing to do with backpacking up steep hills with a 40-50lb. backpack. I found myself thinking yea, this is very physically challenging, but it is also mentally challenging because we have to fight the fact that we want to go home and would rather be any place but in the woods. The first day backpacking through the woods I sprained my ankle. As much as I wanted to quit I knew I couldn't and I wouldn't let myself quit. After it is all said and done I look back on the trip and am very proud of the fact that having a sprained ankle didn't detour me from finishing the trip. I learned a lot about myself, including I am not a nature girl and I do not like climbing very steep hills with an extra 5olbs. on my back.
